Thursday Randomness

My schedule change is working out fabulously. I feel like I'm able to do more things in the day and evening now. Sitting here for 8 hours straight is hard for me. I get very distracted and I feel like I'm more productive breaking my shift up into two 4-hour blocks. I kicked ass yesterday on lines and I know if I keep that up I won't have to work another Sunday again. For the past few months, I've had to work lots of hours on Sundays to make up for lost time either from having to go run somewhere or me just not being motivated to work.

I'm excited about going to see Twlight on Sunday. My friend is coming out to fix my brakes and while he does that I will be taking his daughter to see it. I think it's going to be great. I've got about 200 more pages left of Eclipse and then it's on to Breaking Dawn.

I was shocked at the events on Sons of Anarchy this week. I saw something similar coming but did not expect what actually happened. Very sad. Seeing Charlie Hunnam shirtless a few times made up for it, though LOL Next week's episode is the season finale and looks intense.

We're under a lake effect snow warning again tonight into tomorrow afternoon. They are calling for another 6-12 inches by 1 p.m. I'm glad I don't have to commute.

I would like to buy the new Rock Band, but there's really no sense in that until I actually play the new Guitar Hero. It's been sitting here since Halloween and I haven't even played once. Shame on me. Usually I'm a fiend up all night with it and can't put the guitar down. My DVR is almost to 100% all the time. I have 3 seasons of ER on there at all times as episodes record every day. I record a ton of shows every week also. I just need to figure out how to either clone myself or figure out how not to sleep and then I'd be golden LOL

Snow sucks

We woke up this morning to about 4-5 inches of snow. It's just too darn early for this stuff if you ask me. To top it all off, I'm sick with what seems to be turning into a sinus infection due to my asthma and will most likely require a visit to the doctor. It always comes at a time when I don't have the money either.

On a good note, I was approved for my shift change. Instead of working 4 p.m. to midnight Tues. through Sat. I'll now be working 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Tues. through Thurs. I will remain on my 4-12 shift for Fri. and Sat. It will allow me to spend much needed time with Emily and I think breaking it up will help me to be more productive. It's hard to sit here for 8 hours straight typing. I also always have to get up to make dinner and put Emily to bed, etc. I think it'll work out much better for both of us.

Don't really have much else to say today. I will be going to see Twilight on Sunday, so I'm looking forward to that.

Bummed about not seeing the new Bond

I had every intention of going to see Quantum of Solace today, but then realized while Emily went to Madagascar 2 with my parents and my nephew my movie started 30 minutes later and was longer than theirs, so it would have left at least an hour difference. Hopefully I can get to see it soon. If not, it'll have to wait until I get it on Netflix. That's another thing I can't do without. I have caught up on so many TV shows and movies and I save SO much money from when I used to rent.

Madagascar 2 was absolutely adorable. I would venture to say it was better than the first. I would recommend anyone to go see it, especially in the theater. I am still pretty amazed at all the innuendo they put in children's movies these days, however.

I am really starting to feel horrible tonight with a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, the works. At least I now know why I was so exhausted this week. We actually got quite a bit of snow coming down earlier and there were huge flakes in the air. It just doesn't seem late enough in the year to me for snow yet, but in all reality it is. Nothing has stuck yet but we're slated for snow every day this week UGH.

I've got another hour of work and then I need to watch something to get my DVR cleared enough so stuff won't start erasing tomorrow when more things record. I'm never going to be caught up with it at this rate. Darn ER reruns LOL

Here goes

I haven't blogged in a very long time, so this is my attempt at getting back into the swing of things. My name is Taryn and I will be 31 in January (how that happened I'm unsure). I am a work-at-home medical transcriptionist and will be celebrating my 10th anniversary as an MT on Nov. 24. Time sure flies. I am also a divorced mother to Emily Paige, who will be 7 in March.

Can't really think of much to say right now. I'm beginning to feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I am going in about an hour to see Quantum of Solace. I have been working this morning and afternoon and will need to put in at least 7 hours once I get back home. My life is utterly and completely boring for the most part LOL I work too much, I have become almost hermit-like in as little as I leave my apartment, and I'm hopelessly addicted to my DVR and Guitar Hero. If those aren't the makings of a geek, I don't know what are.

If you've made it this far, thank you. Hopefully I won't bore anyone to death with my ramblings.
